Freaked is a 1993 American sci-fi black comedy film directed by Tom Stern and Alex Winter, both of whom wrote the screenplay with Tim Burns. Winter also starred in the lead role. Both were involved in the short-lived MTV sketch comedy show The Idiot Box, and Freaked retains the same brand of surrealistic and absurdist humor as seen in the show.

  • I saw this for the first time like 20 years ago in a cable channel, don't remember which but never again for years until I think TBS or TNT had it on, in all my life I have only seen it 3 times, I cant find anywhere to buy it at an acceptable price, not even a good torrent as most have sync issues.

  • *HOW. HAVE. I. MISSED. THIS. MOVIE!* This movie is everything I loved as a child, and still love today! That bizarre, weird, crazy but funny type. I have always been a HUGE fan of movies and shows like this. I am a 90's kid, born in 1985, and yes I I'm obsessed with the 90's and nostalgia. The 90's were amazing, and if u were a 90's kid, you would agree. The 80's and the 90's were full of weird stuff like this. Loved it, and still do. It's one of the main reasons why I loved the Goosebumps books so much. They had that bizarre weirdness to them that was not only scary, but a lot of times funny too. Beetlejuice would also be a great example of what I'm talking about, and I loved the special effects that used back then. It gave that more creepy, weird, bizarre vibe, and also the makeup effects were relied on more back then which really brought things to life in the perfect way. I could go on and on about this...which I kind of have already lol. There were many other things that made the 90's so awesome. We 90's kids get so passionate about this stuff because we want to share the 90's awesomeness with the world. ;D

  • I only ever saw the transformation scene but this movie disturbed and freaked me out as a kid. It would randomly pop into my mind from time to time but I couldn’t describe what I saw to google to tell wtf the movie was. My view on this movie now is, strangely enough, more positive now that I’ve seen this review; from what you’ve shown here it feels like it holds up to modern internet absurdist humor. I just might give it a real shot even though the main character makes me nauseous

It honestly caught my interest as I love mad scientist and experiment type genre movies whether its comedic or terrifying, now I need to find it to watch the whole thing. Especially knowing Keanu Reeves is in it. 😂

  • I checked this one out and if I saw it back in 93 when I was 13 it would have been a favorite of mine for a whole lot longer. I didn't expect so much spot on humor, I laughed out loud so many times. It was gross, funny, aware of itself, and incredible effects too.
