It's the cinematic reboot nobody wanted, but perhaps there's more laughs to be had with this movie then one may think. Doug takes a look at My Favorite Martian on a new DisneyCember.

IS HILARIOUS
I always thought I imagined watching this movie as a kid because nobody ever talked about it, and yet the only scene I remember most clearly was that green alien lady 😅
I saw this movie when I was 10 and no one ever mentioned it agin I almost thought I dreamed it
He should do a Disneycember review of The Shaggy Dog starring Tim Allen
Please review an all dogs Christmas Carol
What an alien concept
i remember I saw this when I was super young and it scared the shit out of me
So glad you got around to this one! I agree that it's just the right amount of cheesy, and still enjoyably so. A fave of mine growing up!
The coat reminds me of the cloak from dr strange
omg I totally forgot this movie exists
Won't lie, I was happy to see Doug not treat this like Dog shit xD I always kind of liked it as a kid.
unless Loyd yells "I was frozen today!!" im giving it 0/10
I loved the old tv show from the 50s they did a ok job with this
One of my favorite childhood favorite movies, even had the poster that had a silver background that basically shows you as the martian with antenna lol
I’m actually glad Doug thought it was just ok; this movie is a guilty pleasure for me because I watched it a lot when I was a kid.
I used to watch this movie all the time as a kid, great to see some of the clips again like the fun tiny car chase!
I saw this movie in my grandma's vhs collection when I was younger and I had no clue what it was until now
I watched this a ton as a kid, but I would not have remembered it existed unless you did this video.
Um excuse me, this isn't Ray William Johnson
I remeber liking that movie as a kid. Chistopher lloyd is up there with walkin as an amazing actor is every setting
I sweari hear nc saying jim Daniels
Anybody else try to open their lava lamp after watching this movie .. or just me?
I LOVED this movie as a kid, it was my favorite for a long time
When will Doug learn that when we suggest a movie to review, it’s not just so we can see you rip it to shreds. NC, you have amazing opinions we wanna hear! That’s all we wanna see!
The original show is amazing. Wish you mentioned it.
The 90's always do remakes of from the 1960's like the adams family, the beverly hillbillies.... Wild wild west oh you get a picture
vid is two days old
Wait... I've seen that movie, I remember some of those effects. And the suit. And nothing else^^
Loved this movie so much as a kid
I remember fondly of this movie
All I remember from this movie was the suit and that someone got eaten in the end.
This movie freaked me out as a kid. I found it more scary than funny. The dude turning into a martian at the end still keeps me up at night.
It was great watching this with grown ups at the time because the secret agent looking for Lloyd is the original My Favorite Martian from the tv show so when he reveals himself to be an alien and hitch a ride home, it becomes an incredibly meta joke before meta was even a thing. Doubles as a twist because he was in plain sight the entire time.
See, now I just want you to talk about Fawlty Towers
"But things go wrong when he accidentally leaves the mic on and she says things she wasn't supposed to live on TV." That'll hold the little S.O.B.s.
Isn’t this that fake band Ray William Johnson was in?
I was searching for this film for almost 20 years, I didn't even know if I dreamed it.
Can you review the movie Riding in Cars with Boys? It's a Drew Barrymore film that no one seems to talk about.
My Favorite Martian is Slim Shady!
It's a dumb movie but it's delightfully dumb
This totally deserves The Full #NostalgiaCritic Treatment
This movie starred Doc Brown from Back To The Future as well as Vizzini from The Princess Bride.
I remember this film years ago. It's not great but Christopher Lloyd is really entertaining and he made me laugh.
Finally, I've been waiting for this since this was a movie based on a classic tv show!
as a huge cornball who love cheese, slapstick, and puns I am down to clown
Last movie both my parents took me to before they divorced.
That looks fun
Please do Pooh’s Grand Adventure, it’s such a dark, bittersweet movie.
This truly is one hell of a coincidence, I've been looking for this movie for a long time and I just happened to find it last week, a week before Doug happened to review it in Disneycember
An honest review. I liked it ^^ Also, Ray Walston (who played the original Uncle Martin) finally goes back to Mars.
I adore this movie. It's silly and fun, has really likable characters, as as well as unlikable characters that are kind of fun.. If I want to have a lighthearted good time for 90 minutes, this is one of the movies I'll watch.
Remember seeing this movie years ago as a little kid not knowing if it was real or not. Holy crap this was weird!! Lol
0.o I kept seeing the ad for this movie OVER and OVER and that toilet scene is cemented in my mind 😂
Omg I remember this! As soon as I saw that toilet scene I was like "I've seen that before as a child'. So THIS was the movie that was from. Huh.
💜
I’ll be honest, This was my first Chris Lloyd movie and I frigging love it.
I was frozen today!
this is back when they were doing remakes of 60s tv properties that were actually sneaky sequals like Machales navy
The original show is amazing. I can't believe only you have made a ref to it.
Fair review. I love this movie
Wow. A movie I remember but forgot the title to. This brings back memories. I will admit, its corney, but most 90s movies share this so...Still for the time it was finr
Watched this movie as a kid, so I have positive memories of it👍
I don't know why, but the idea of a human biologically morphing into an alien creeps me out so much (Yes, District 9 almost gave me a heart attack)
Literally the only thing I remember about this movie is that the girl turns into a giant hentai tentacle monster at the end and straight up eats a guy.
First i hear about this movie
One of my favorite Disney movies ahh I grew up.
Still wouldn't mind watching a Nostalgic Critic review of it.
"Christ, I was FROZEN TODAAY!!"
It was ok. And the original actor from the original show makes an appearance too.
I completely forgot this movie even existed. I saw when it came out but just that once and only vaguely remember any of it.
Your staff still haven't been covered in blood.... The Blood god will have his tribute
This movie is great.
I can't speak for everyone, but I think sometimes people want you to 'tear apart' a movie they totally enjoyed, just because a goofy comedy is fun to make fun of. I liked it! It had a lot of fun and silly scifi stuff that was well thought out, felt very contemporary and at the same time totally a nod to the time period of the original show and its sensibilities..
The actors are trying
Speaking of Elizabeth Hurley, pleeeease do a Nostalgia Critic review of Bedazzled. A movie where she plays the literal devil putting Brendan Fraser in horrible situations that he wishes for deserves some NC attention.
Man I forgot this film existed! Loved it when I was a kid
You know, I never watched this movie and I'm never going to. I expected you to review Nightmare Before Christmas instead, considering, you know, this is Christnas Eve and all. Maybe tomorrow?
My favorite Martian will always be the Martian Queen from Duck Dodgers. She was thicc.
Hey I remember this movie!! I thought it was pretty good when I saw it on tv a few years back....
This is one of those perfect nostalgic movies. I remember loving it dearly and being terrified of the body horror. I still like it.
I remember thinking that this was a fever dream and then I caught the movie later. I really enjoyed the movie.
I watched it as a kid, loved it then. Good enough for a lazy afternoon..
So, not even going to mention how Hurley's character turns into an alien and literally kills a guy by eating him?
I was told this was a bad movie, but I saw it earlier this year, and had a laugh about it. It was such a silly movie, with such naughty humor for what’s supposed to be a family Disney film.
Idk but I like this movie a lot. Lol
I was frozen today
I loved My Favorite Martian when I was a kid and appreciated it even more when I rewatched it when I was 26. I wouldn’t say this is a guilty pleasure for me..just a pleasure lol Merry Christmas!
Is it wierd that this time Christopher Lloyd is the one who crash lands in boring suburbia. Who was frozen this time?
I did like that Ray Walston, who played the Martian in the TV series, was in this film playing a Martian.
People hate this movie?
While it's far from great, I really have a soft spot for this film!
There actually is a small twist at the end of the film where a mysterious government agent who kept showing up throughout the movie turns out to be the Martian from the original _My Favorite Martian_ TV series, same actor and everything. Granted, this twist doesn't really make that much sense because the main character as well as the landlady of the original series have the exact same names as their counterparts in the movie, he even used the same alias as Christopher Lloyd's character. This twist might have made more sense if they'd just used different names for the characters, but as is we kinda just have to assume that it's a completely different Martian from the one that got stranded on Earth in the 60's and the fact that he's played by the same actor is just an homage to the original series rather than any sort of conclusion to it.
WOW I completely forgot about this movie.
Been waiting for this lol
Even though I love this movie, I’ve wanted to see Doug do a Nostalgia Critic review of it. I didn’t care if it was positive or negative, I just wanted to know what Doug’s opinion on it was and I’m honestly surprised he didn’t hate it as I had the feeling he would. Not the way I expected to see Doug review this film, but I’m satisfied.
This movie was my childhood!
Had no interest when this came out and still have none. Looked too goofy for my taste. I'll stick with the original, thank you.
There are two kinds of Michael Eisner's Disney era appetizers. Time-wasters and wastes of time, happy to see that this seems to be the former.
The only thing I liked about this movie was Christopher Lloyd, but that’s mainly because he’s one of my favorite actors.
Elizabeth Hurley? *sold*
Oh yeah I remember this band, its the one Ray William Johnson was in.
I might be having a Mandela Effect but I remember Steve Martin playing as the Martian in the movie.
Christopher Lloyd as a Martain? Think of him as Jim Ignotowski on Taxi and this works!
thanks for dredging up some old memories! I remember the bathroom scene in this one for some reason, that was so weird.
I feel bad this type of movies ceased to exist. Two or three films like this per year would be fine
