  • I am pretty sure that part of the reason they don’t explain the sides more is to show how useless the war was in general. Nobody in the show even knew why they were fighting.

  • Hearing Doug's view of the cast had me curious on a few of them especially Matt Lanter who plays Anakin. Then I was have an awkward-style (or as Jim Jaroz put it in the Blade II review and never gets old Well sh**) reaction to find he's been in a lot of those parody movie like Vampire Suck and Disaster Movie. He was also in movies like 2011's Roommate (which I still think would be an interesting Nostalgia Critic Review from what I heard about it) and apparently he played Matt the Pear in the Annoying Orange series. So it's probably shows the kind of roles he's casted in

  • After this season it starts getting REALLY good. I think you should consider reviewing individual episodes, or at least story-arcs, as you watch them. Like you did for A:TLA.

  • I've been thinking a lot about this vlog series and when would be the best time to watch Rebels. The 7th season of Clone Wars came out long after Rebels did so I was debating whether you should watch Rebels before or after Clone Wars season 7. I think that you should watch the entirety of Clone Wars before moving on to Rebels. In the same way that Vader being Luke's father spoiled events in the prequels, some events in Rebels spoil certain events in Clone Wars. It would ruin some emotional moments in season 7 if you go in already having watched Rebels.

  • One of my favorite episodes is when Padmé tries to prevent nationalizing the banks. It has no action scene's aside from a really brief chase scene that's barely a minute long and ends very anti-climatic. But it really made me love Bail Organa.

    marinus18marinus18Oy oldin
  • Those supertanks are also really cool and it's kind of sad they don't appear again. The arc also has some really great lines especially in the episode with the zombies. The arc is one of my favorites including the epilogue episode on the ship as it's Ashoka really coming into her own.

    marinus18marinus18Oy oldin
  • 17:20 I also really like the moral. To be patient and wait to make the right decision. That going slowly can sometimes can you to your destination faster. I also really love his design and I wouldn't mind seeing more of his species.

    marinus18marinus18Oy oldin
  • One of my favorite scene's is her using the force mind trick to fool one of the guards. It's really hard for her and even when she succeeds she makes a mistake because she forgets the command is going to be taken completely litteral. It's my main issue with Rey as she suddenly does it perfectly with no training. Ashoka is a padawan and so has a lot of training and even though she can do it her first attempt is clumsy and really tense as it could fail at any moment.

    marinus18marinus18Oy oldin
  • I think by far the most improved character is Padmé. In the prequels she really is just nothing but an object for Anakin to love but here she comes into her own.

  • I don't know why people always say season 1 and 2 are crappy. I mean, I know why. Season 1, like with any show, is finding it's footing. Still, by season 2, there are many good episodes. Several of which you mention here. The Geonosis assault is great with some creepy sequences within the insect catacombs. The arc really pays off in the following episode Brain Invaders. Also love that they explored Boba trying to get revenge for daddy Fett. It's logical he would try at some point and gives some nice closure to that story beat. Season 3 and 4 only up the ante in terms of story.

  • The behind the scenes stuff on the DVDs and blurays are awesome. They talk about their homages and stuff. You also get a lot more info on the stories and stuff. You also find out George Lucas and his Daughter are responsible for some of the best stuff in it. He was involved heavily with the show. There's a lot of awesome new characters. I personally never liked Ahsoka that much and still don't. Rex is awesome and Cad Bane is great as well. As the show goes on a lot of new cool bounty hunters show up. And the story arcs get even better overall. There are a few episodes here and there that aren't the best but overall the show is great.

  • Just too bad they fucked up the timeline a little with the chrystalis episodes that happens BEFORE the move Clone wars - one in each season one and two (ashoka is missing and you get to see why they are out of weapons and stuff and need reinforcements), and yeah there are some less than stellar episodes in the series but is does get better and better - and all series have a mix of good and less good episodes - you cant make 100+ episodes of anything and they are all good - some storylines are bad but luckely they seem to be the one epsides ones for the most part - the longer story archs were pretty good and they series get so dqrk in the last 3 season that it no longer is a kid show, the same in rebels tbh they storytelling gets so much more mature each season and Ezra (like ashoka) has to mature and learn fast from a irritating little a-hole/know it all to semi adault in a really short amount of time - both of them is supposed to be what 15 years old or so (so the jedi used child soldiers, and put them in command over trained elite troops..., also the clones are child soldiers as they are 10 years old or so)

  • One thing I hope you'll pick up on is how the animation quality improves over the course of the series. I'm not just talking about Season 7 as opposed to the rest of the show, but the other seasons as well. There is a moment in Season 6/The Lost Missions in particular, where Plo Koon finds the lightsaber of a missing Jedi and activates it. I was struck then by how much the animation had improved from the show's earliest days; the fluidity of the way the characters in the scene moved, the way light reflected off of metallic and non-metallic surfaces, and even the dust motes glittering in the air, were all things that you would never really have seen in Season 1.

  • I really like that we get to see hints of Anakin's dark side, when he goes to interrogate the prisoners who wouldn't give up any information to the other Jedi. The other Jedi even show suspicion when they find out he was successful with them, and he just changes the subject, knowing what he did was not the Jedi way. And then there are the times Palpatine removes his mask. For 99% of the series, he pretends to be an innocent old man, but then behind closed doors, he heartlessly tells the doctor to kill the Zillo Beast, and threatens the doctor if he doesn't comply. That's a rare glimpse into his true personality, and I really appreciated that.

  • Wait are you going to review Kingdom Hearts?

  • This probably has been said before, and I am sorry for that if it has, but one thing I did like about the show was that the majority of the battles and moments are out of order, but there are enough clues and hints to know where and when everything is taking place. The traitor in the first season led right into the (not great but ok overall) movie. The clones training in season 2 trying to come together as a tea are the clones from the attacked outpost from Season 1, some of them returning in later seasons to give really good payoffs. The best way I could put it is that it doesn't come off as pretentious editing, compared to some movies that are told out of order, if that makes sense?

  • Maybe beacuse I'm prequel child, but to be honest when I think Star Wars i think more about prequels estetique or more fantasy esque from Jedi Tales (and now also Hight Republic) than original trilogy esque. To be honest OT style is my least feavourite.
